I am at 14 picture book drafts for the year. It is an incredible number for me. A braggy number. Except that most of them are Anne Lamott-inspired poopy first drafts. A few have revised well though. A couple are already agent approved. It has been a good six months for my writing. A great six months.

3am-7am is when most of my writing is taking place. That’s all I’m doing differently… butt in chair during pre-kid hours. Plus, my stories are coming together faster. Lightening fast compared to the past. Some of the speed comes from the plot understanding I’ve gained the last few years. Some of it is high quality feedback. Some of it is the voice and style I’m embracing. All of it is awesome.
